Dear Crusader:
As you know, McClancy is situated right in the Covid-19 epicenter of Queens. Many of our families have been directly affected:
- Numerous McClancy students have currently contracted the virus as well as several parents.
- Extended family members have succumbed to the virus.
- The economic crisis has significantly impacted many McClancy families.
Stephen Squeri, McClancy Class of 1977 and Chairman and CEO of American Express, has come forward to lead the effort in helping those students affected by the virus. Steve is reaching out to his fellow alumni and friends of McClancy by offering to match donations made to the newly established Crusader Covid-19 Relief Fund. The sole purpose of the fund is to provide tuition assistance for McClancy families in financial need because of the pandemic.
Hopefully, you have been able to view Steve’s video message introducing the fund, which is posted on McClancy’s social media accounts and on the school’s website (msgrmcclancy.org).
Please consider making a gift to the fund in any amount you are able.
We know that many of you have also been considerably affected by this pandemic. Even if you are unable to support the fund currently, please keep in prayer the continuing mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart at McClancy. Despite tremendous disruption, be assured that the school has responded to the pandemic in a position of strength by continuing a vital academic program with active counseling support for our students.
We hope you are your family are doing well during these upsetting and challenging times.
Sincerely,
Brother Joseph Rocco, sc
