On Saturday, April 25, The Cor Jesu Foundation, Inc., in support of Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School, hosted its 22nd Annual President’s Dinner at Russo’s On The Bay. School President Nicholas Melito ’76 welcomed more than 200 guests for an evening celebrating the McClancy community.
This year’s recipients of the Cor Jesu Award were Brother Joseph Holthaus, S.C., Michael Hopkins ’83 (posthumously) and Ambassador Donald Yamamoto ‘71. The Cor Jesu Award is the highest honor that McClancy High School can bestow on one of its community members. The recipients, through word and deed, have demonstrated the character essential to leadership or achievement, which exemplifies the Crusader tradition. This person has brought honor upon McClancy, and we, in turn, honor this person.
President Nicholas Melito ’76 also presented the McClancy President’s Leadership Award to Dennis W. Farrell ’66. This award honors an individual who exemplifies outstanding leadership, character, and moral and religious values, serving as a role model for the entire McClancy community. Dennis truly embodies what it means to be a Crusader.
Senior Gabriel Santini-Naughton ’26 shared a heartfelt reflection on his four-year journey at McClancy, speaking to the impact the school has had on his life and why it continues to make a difference.
The evening also recognized the Class of 1976 as they celebrated their 50th Anniversary Reunion. Each alumnus received a commemorative golden diploma, signed by Brother Robert Connolly, S.C., President Nicholas Melito, and Principal Jim Castrataro, marking this milestone.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the evening, especially our generous sponsors. Your support continues to make a lasting difference.
