Julian started playing soccer at a young age with several local clubs like Kosmos FC and Blau Weiss Gottschee. Julian entered McClancy as a Freshman in 2001 and made Varsity. He made a big impact on the team, none bigger than his junior season where he scored 33 goals setting a program record and helped the Crusaders win the division and earn a spot in the CHSAA City Championship game.
After his time at McClancy Julian went on to play soccer at Long Island University – CW Post on an athletic scholarship where he had a lot of success in his four seasons, highlighted by his freshmen year, when they won the conference championship and his sophomore year when the Pioneers were nationally ranked and made the NCAA tournament.
After college Julian continued to play at a high level but focused his attention on Futsal and indoor soccer. Julian was a member of the US Men’s Futsal National team from 2016-2022 and was a member of the 2021 World Cup team.
In addition to his playing career, Julian has also coached several local youth organizations. Currently, he is coaching MLS team New York City Football Club and has taken his passion for Futsal and started his own program called Levels Futsal.
Julian is married to his wife Indira Avila and they are expecting their first child this December.
