Joseph Tannuzzo ’89

Joe attended Msgr. McClancy High School from 1985 to 1989.  He ran all four years and started competing on the varsity level when he was a sophomore.  He was the CHSAA Brooklyn – Queens Cross Country Champion on the Freshman (1985), Sophomore (1986) and Varsity (1987) levels and a CHSAA Brooklyn – Queens Cross Country All Star all four years. I won the 1989 Brooklyn – Queens Varsity 5,000 meters outdoor title.  Joe also won three individual City Championships – 2 Freshman titles in the 1 mile run (both indoor and outdoor seasons )and the 1986 Sophomore Cross Country title.  McClancy won two CHSAA Brooklyn – Queens Team Titles – the 1986 Sophomore Cross Country team title and the 1989 Varsity Outdoor team title.  Joe was a Tri – Captain on the varsity track team during his senior year (1988 – 1989).

After graduating from McClancy, Joe received an athletic scholarship from Long Island University and was a Tri – Captain on the men’s team from 1991 – 1993. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in 1993. After graduation, he completed three marathons and ran a personal best 2:47:31 at the 1995 Boston Marathon.

Joe currently resides in Mahopac, New York with his wife Colleen and Daughter Allison.
