Track
Joe Pappas was a member of the 1984 CHSAA City Championship Track team, the first for any sport at McClancy. During his time at McClancy, he broke the 100m and 200m records, anchored (with a 49.2 — 400m) the Brooklyn/Queens Championship mile relay team (1985) and was named captain in his senior year. Joe graduated as valedictorian and received the Brother James O’Grady Student-Athlete Award.
After graduation, Joe continued his athletic career at Boston University on an academic/athletic scholarship. He was named co-captain in 1988-1989 and made the All-Atlantic Team. He received the BU Engineering Student-Athlete of the Year Award in 1989. In that same year, Joe earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Joe went on to earn his MBA in Finance at Fordham University and receive the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. He is currently a consultant for Chubb Computer Services and is on assignment at Prudential Insurance. He married his lovely wife, Tsui, in 1994 and their son Armand was born in 1999. Joe, Tsui, and Armand reside in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
