Joe Cacchioli ‘74

Joe Cacchioli was born and raised in Sunnyside, Queens where he attended St. Raphael’s Grammar School, which had opened its doors in 1962. Joe began playing organized baseball and basketball for the parish CYO teams while in first grade and continued playing throughout his grammar school years. He graduated St. Raphael’s in 1970, as part of the first graduating class that attended the school for all 8 years. After little deliberation, he chose to attend Monsignor McClancy.

Joe entered McClancy in the fall of 1970 and played on the school’s baseball and basketball JV and varsity teams during his 4 years here. He contributed to the baseball team’s success participating in the CHSAA championship game his sophomore, junior and senior years. He led the team in batting his junior and senior years and, in his senior year, was selected first team All-Brooklyn/Queens and second team All-City.

After graduating from McClancy, Joe attended St. Francis College on a baseball scholarship where he majored in Accounting and minored in Business Management. After college, he accepted a position at the CPA firm, Grant Thornton LLP. After 5+ years at Grant Thornton, Joe took a Controllership position at E-Z-EM, Inc., a pharmaceutical drug, and medical device manufacturer based in Westbury, NY. He remained with E-Z-EM for 26 years, moving up to the position of Chief Financial Officer, until the company was sold in 2010. He then accepted a CFO position at Country Life, LLC, a vitamin, and supplement manufacturer based in Hauppauge, NY where he remains today.

Joe lives in Manhasset Hills, LI and has been married to his wonderful wife Cookie since 1985. They have 26-year-old triplets, Anthony, Steven and Gina, who all earned college degrees and have since moved into the workforce. While his children were growing up, Joe coached them in little league baseball, CYO basketball, as well as travel soccer.
