Basketball
Gerry grew up in Woodside and attended Blessed Virgin Mary Help of Christians Elementary School where he played both basketball and baseball for the parish CYO teams. He entered McClancy in the fall of 1969.
Gerry played basketball for four years at McClancy, earning team Most Valuable Player honors in his freshman, sophomore, and senior years. In his senior year, he was selected to the first team All-Brooklyn/Queens team and third team All-City.
After graduating from McClancy, Gerry accepted a full basketball scholarship to Adelphi University where he majored in Business Management. After college, he took over his father’s business which he later sold. He is currently the owner of G&N Beverage in Brooklyn.
Gerry resides in Manhasset with his wife Nancy and their three children, Mary, Robert, and Anthony. He continues to play an active role in sports by coaching both basketball and baseball in his community and in the Long Island AAU Basketball programs.
