Gary Villacres ’94

Baseball

Gary was a two time CHSAA Baseball Player of the Year in 1993 and 1994. In 1993, Gary hit .514 with 5 home runs, 16 stolen bases, 24 runs batted in  and scored 29 runs for the Crusader City Chamionship team. He was also 7-0, pitching 48 innings with a 2.19 earned run average while striking out 61. His numbers in 1994 were comparable. Gary was selected to the Daily NewsNewsday, and Tablet All-City teams in 1992 and 1993. As a result of his outstanding high school career, Gary won a full scholarship to play at St. John’s University.

Gary signed to play professionally in 1999 spending one year in the Frontier League and three years in the Northern League, one with the Winnipeg Goldeyes and two with the Fargo / Moorhead Redhawks / Quebec City Capitals.

Currently Gary is in the NYPD . He and his wife Noemi have a little daughter, Katelyn Rose, who was born in 2002.
