Daryl Boykins ‘00

Daryl graduated from Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School in 2000. As a freshman, Daryl broke the Freshmen school record, by scoring 38 points in one playoff game. His outstanding performance as a freshman led him to be moved up to the Varsity team as a sophomore for the 1997-1998 season. He earned multiple honors over the course of his playing career here at McClancy. He was CHSAA All Diocesan Team in 1999 and 2000 and was awarded The John Norton Memorial Award for All-CHSAA Team. He was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Sunkist Shootout in Louisiana as well as our Brother Arnold Tournament and the St. Anthony’s Holiday Classic.

In 2000, Daryl was named to the NY Newsday All Queens 1st team, NY Post All-CHSAA 2nd Team and NY Daily News Brooklyn/Queens All-CHSAA while also earning a McDonald’s All-American Nomination. Daryl was chosen to represent New York vs Chicago in the Wendy’s Classic. He is the second person in school history to score over one thousand points. His career total is 1,150 points

Daryl received a full athletic scholarship to St. Peter’s College (Division I) in New Jersey. After his freshman year, Daryl transferred to St. Thomas Aquinas College (Division II) in Sparkill, NY. As captain he led the team to the ECAC Conference Quarterfinals.

He started an athletic program for BREC Academy Alternative School as the Athletic Director. His success there prepared him to serve as the Athletic Director for the community coalition of Sussex, Virginia, as he continues to give back to his community by holding free basketball camps for boys and girls in the Sussex, Virginia area.

He currently owns multiple successful business. The Boykins Lawncare LLC., and Fun Times Inflatables providing bounce houses for birthday parties and party rentals.

Daryl credits his time with his teachers, coaches and fellow McClancy brothers for his successes. He is honored and humbled to be inducted into the McClancy Athletic Hall Fame.

Daryl resides in Virgina, with his wife Arayeisy, and their children Zeiden, Jaeda, Zaaren, Zaile, Jayla, Jaylen and Zxiany.
