Track Coach 1961-1983
Brother Albert was a successful and excellent teacher for 41 years in Mississippi, Huntington, L.I., the Bronx, and Queens. It was at St. Philip Neri School in the Bronx that Brother Albert coached football and won three Pop Warber League Championships. But it was at McClancy that Brother Albert developed a winning streak that resulted in 12 City Junior Midget Championships and over 15 in the tough Brooklyn-Queens CHSAA Track League. His coaching career spanned over a 22 year period. Many of his students recall him with fond memories and always speak of his friend, “Jose”.
During his 31 years teaching at McClancy, Brother Albert taught his History and Religion classes with great enthusiasm. The McClancy Yearbook Staff dedicated the 1986 yearbook to Brother Albert, Teacher of the Year.
