Adam Brunengo was born and raised in Queens where he started playing organized soccer at the age of 4. He attended PS 152 and IS 227 before attending McClancy.
Adam attended McClancy from 2000-2004. He was a 4-year varsity starter. He helped his team win the division title as well as the City Championship in his freshman year, notably scoring the game winning goal in the City semi-final game. As a sophomore, he helped the team reach the city semi-finals and was selected to the All-CHSAA team. In his Junior year, he was selected to the All-CHSAA team and the all-Queens team. During his senior year, he had 15 goals and 33 assists while helping the team win the division and reach the city finals. As a senior, he was selected to the All-CHSAA team, All-Queens first team, Newsday All-City team and was named team MVP. Adam also represented McClancy in the CHSAA Senior all-star game where he was a starter. Adam is the single season and all-time assist leader at McClancy.
After graduating from McClancy, Adam went on to play soccer at St. Thomas Aquinas College from 2004-2005 before transferring to nationally ranked C.W. Post where he played from 2006-2007.
Adam returned to teach and coach at McClancy in 2009 where he helped coach the Boys Varsity Soccer team to City titles in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014. He also coached the Varsity Tennis team to a City Championship in 2014. Outside of McClancy, Adam is a coach for USDA club Blau-Weiss Gottschee in Middle Village and is the head Men’s Soccer coach at St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn.
